Kay Gilmer brings over 20 years of environmental experience and 12 years of air quality permitting and compliance experience to Forester University. Gilmer joined the environmental consulting arena after 15 years with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) where she managed the OEPA Southeast District’s Division of Air Pollution Control unit. Since leaving the OEPA, Gilmer has provided senior level air quality permitting and regulatory consulting services to a variety of industrial clients. As project manager, Gilmer has assisted clients in identifying applicable requirements, developing compliance strategies, minimizing regulatory monitoring and reporting burdens, obtaining reasonable and workable air permits, and developing early project planning tools.
Currently, Gilmer acts as Cornerstone’s Air Compliance Technical Lead where she assists senior level air staff in regulatory interpretation and resolving air compliance and permitting issues. Gilmer performs senior level reviews of internal work products for the Cornerstone Environmental Group LLC air group, and continues to manage outside projects. Gilmer has supported a variety of air quality projects across the country working with multiple state and local air agencies. Gilmer provides a leadership role in developing internal training sessions and materials, maintaining a library of guidance documents, and assisting Cornerstone Environmental Group LLC management in keeping abreast of changes in air regulations on a national and state level.
