Developing & Implementing Effective Stormwater Outreach Programs

What makes brands like Nike, Target, and McDonald's so successful? Billion dollar marketing budgets? Yes, BUT also the fact that they take the time to know their customers, know what's important to them, where to reach them, and how to make their message stick. Join Jami Fitch to discuss how to take this billion dollar thinking and apply it to your stormwater outreach program WITHOUT breaking your budget.

In this webcast we'll take a look at what we can learn from internal consumer brands' marketing practices, and explore how you can apply these same principles and practices to your outreach programs. Within this discussion we'll explore how like these brands, successful outreach programs must define a target audience, determine what motivates their behavior, identify barriers and benefits to audience customer behavior, and learn where customers get information. Additionally, we'll outline how you can integrate these steps within your campaign development, implementation, outreach and deliver tool selection, and program analysis.

Fitch will also put the concepts presented to the real-world test as she discusses how the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District successfully utilized these techniques to develop and implement their YardScaping program, a public education campaign focused on changing lawn care behavior. Attendees of this webinar will learn about the development and implementation of the program, as well as hear about the successful behavior change reported as a result of outreach efforts.
