Because Hydrological Simulation Program – Fortran (HSPF) is a complex hydrology and water quality computer program, we first have to understand the basics of continuous simulation and how to talk HSPF before jumping into the nitty-gritty of HSPF parameters, calibration, and stormwater solutions.

Join prolific speaker Doug Beyerlein (P.E., P.H., D.WRE) for this live, educational webinar introducing continuous simulation hydrology and the different modules and options available in HSPF.

We’ll kick off by examining the overall concept of how HSPF works. Within this discussion, we’ll explore how it’s fundamentally different than single-event methods used to calculate runoff from rainfall, its major components, and data management. We’ll then analyze its strengths and weaknesses and walk through a generalized plan of how to set up an HSPF model. Finally, Mr. Beyerlein will present historical background on the development of HSPF.
