COURSE DESCRIPTION

Learn the practical aspects of basic liquid pipe hydraulics!

Join Forester University and returning speaker Dr. David Williams for this live, educational webinar discussing the theory of steady state pipe mechanics (both open channel and pressurized flow), non-compressible fluid characteristics, pipe network components, and the design of basic pipeline systems as well as surge considerations and optimization.

This course will cover overall mass and energy balances in pipe flow; pipe terminology; pipe roughness, friction factor, and flow resistance coefficients for different flow regimes; engineering equations (Hazen-William formula); resistance coefficients and equivalent length for flow elements; and pipe size selections.

Discussion topics include the energy of steady state liquids in an open channel and pressurized pipe, components of a pipeline network, major and minor hydraulic losses, and pipe design and sizing.

Take this course to become knowledgeable of the basic pipe hydraulic equations and how they are used to size pipes and determine the necessary components of a pipe system to achieve distribution objectives!
