NPDES Industrial Stormwater Compliance & BMP Selection Under An Emerging Regulatory Trajectory

COURSE DESCRIPTION

With an eye toward long-term industrial stormwater sustainability and compliance, what are some of the strategic approaches that facilities have used for effective and feasible BMPs?

Join Forester University for this live, educational, two-part webinar as returning speaker Jonathan Meronek, Project Manager at SCS Engineers, provides an update on the continuously emerging industrial stormwater regulatory trends, ever-increasing compliance requirements, and BMP selection at NPDES-regulated industrial stormwater facilities.

During this course, we will examine the potentially upcoming multi-sector general permit and recent, more stringent statewide industrial general permits. We will also take a look at recent and pending cases that may have direct effects on industrial stormwater permittees and dischargers.

Whether you are new to the industry or an experienced practitioner—and especially if you enjoyed Jonathan’s A New ERA in NPDES Industrial Stormwater Compliance Regulations webinar this past fall—you will be sure to come away from this course with useful and up-to-date insights regarding the current regulatory landscape surrounding industrial stormwater compliance.

Learning Objectives
Attendees can expect the discussion and education of the following learning objectives:

  • Learn everything you need to know now to begin to shape your stormwater management program for the future as regulatory compliance responsibilities increase for owners, managers, and operators of industrial stormwater facilities
  • Explore feasible BMP assessments; e.g. the cost of source control versus BMPs and/or potentially no discharge
  • Discover how to approach compliance with a tiered selection of BMPs to meet regulatory requirements and receiving water standards
  • Examine how states that have currently implemented industrial stormwater regulations are coming to terms with potential discharges to impaired waters (303d and TMDLs)
  • Understand how non-government organizations (NGOs) and environmental groups are shaping industrial stormwater regulations and becoming a “de facto” regulatory mechanism
