What is a Microgrid Today? Why Definitions Matter in the Microgrid Space

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The term “microgrid” means different things to different stakeholders. Depending upon geography, place in the diverse vendor ecosystem, and whether one is a customer, solution provider, regulator, utility representative, or academic researcher, precisely defining the term “microgrid” may or may not matter.

Join Forester University for this live, educational webinar as speakers Gwen Holdmann (Director of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power at the University of Alaska Fairbanks) and Peter Asmus (Research Director at Navigant Research) argue that—when it comes to microgrids—definitions do matter.

This course will review a plethora of microgrid definitions, with a special emphasis on remote microgrid systems and the need for a new definition for an “advanced remote microgrid.”

This webinar is based on an article by the same name appearing in the September/October issue of Distributed Energy magazine.
