Wrapping Up Geotechnical Work: Monitoring, Reports, and Disputes

COURSE DESCRIPTION

All good things have to come to an end, and geotechnical work on a construction or land development site is no different. However, not all good beginnings have a happy ending. What can be done to protect all parties from disputes and grievances that can harm working relationships AND your bottom line?

Join returning speaker Rod Johnston for the 3rd session in our Geotechnical Waltz Master Class Series exploring geotechnical value engineering and how to avoid the common issues associated with geotechnical work during project culmination.

Following a logical path through the site construction process, this online training webinar will wrap up the series by discussing disputes, grievances, unexpected change orders, discrepancies in buyer-seller compaction standards, and other issues that frequently arise during project culmination. We’ll then examine how to avoid contract disputes and how quality monitoring, inspections, and reporting can protect both the geotech and owner. Finally, we’ll wrap up with a discussion of geotechnical value engineering and how it affects negotiated site-work.

Learning Objectives
Attendees can expect the discussion and education of the following learning objectives.

  • Explore buyer – seller compaction standards and how to align them.
  • Examine geotech and construction monitoring and inspection best practices.
  • Learn how to write and evaluate geotechnical reports.
