Water and Energy Efficiency: Save Water to Save Energy

Save water, save energy, and save more of both in the process. Join Paul W. Lander, PhD, ASLA, LEED A.P. for the third webinar in our water efficiency series for an exploration of the connection between water and energy efficiency, and how an increase in the efficiency of one can mean substantial savings in the other.

Join Dr. Lander, PhD, ASLA, LEED A.P. to explore the ways that water and energy are linked at the community and household level, and the myriad opportunities for reducing water and energy use through efficiency and conservation.

Learners in this webcast will gain a fundamental understanding of the role that water and energy services play in modern life; the systems that traditionally deliver those systems; and the connections between the two. A particular focus will be how to use water and energy more efficiently, and how the increase in efficiency of one resource often means savings in the other resource. Learners will learn professional terminology used in the field; be given specific examples of water and energy savings; and gather focused resources for further education and advancement.

Learning Objectives:
Webcast attendees can expect the discussion and education of the following learning objectives.

  1. Participants will gain an understanding of the connections between water and energy at the generation scale and the end-user scale.
  2. Participants will gain an understanding of the terminology used to describe energy- and water-efficiency programs and approaches.
  3. Participants will gain an understanding of the potential savings to be gained by looking at water-efficiency, energy-efficiency, and cross-media programs.
  4. Participants will gain an understanding of directed resources for further information and education.
